  2. Stereolab may be narrow, but their style is timeless, ensuring that they will be around long after the Retro movement has become a semi-colon in the annals of pop history. And any group that has album titles like, "And the Band Played Groovy Bachelor Pad Music" gets the thumbs up in my books/5(68).

  4. If you’ve ever dreamt of owning every track Stereolab ever created during the Margerine Eclipse sessions, this newly remastered expanded edition is for you. Like its companion release (also out today), Sound-Dust, this fresh incarnation of Margerine Eclipse was remastered from the original 1/2” tapes by Bo Kondren (Calyx Mastering) and overseen by Stereolab’s Tim Gane.
  5. Stereolab released the EP, Super-Electric in September , and a single, titled Stunning Debut Album, followed in November (which was neither debut nor album).

  7. Mar 10,  · A very solid Stereolab album, and a certain improvement over the plastic-sounding Chemical Chords. Not Music is warmer and the sound resonates more. Mary Hansen's backing vocals are still very much missed, but there's not much that can be done about that/5(19).
  8. Nov 15,  · Not Music is a new album from indie veterans Stereolab. Those left frustrated by the ‘Lab’s current indefinite hiatus shouldn’t, however, get carried away. This isn’t a new new album, but rather a selection of 12 tracks recorded during the same sessions that produced ’s Chemical Chords, plus an Atlas Sound remix of old track Neon.
